1963 Aston Martin DB4 Vantage

Right Hand Drive: UK Supplied
1 of 31 Original Manufactured “Series 5” Vantage Coupes

Our ultra-rare DB4 was originally delivered on 1st March 1963 as one of only 31 Series 5 Vantage Coupes constructed with covered headlights and ‘Special Series’ high-performance Vantage specification engine.

Delivered by the leading Aston Martin sales agents, Brooklands of Bond Street, London W1.  Originally commissioned by L.A Ruxley of Theydon Bois, Essex in Black Pearl coachwork with Blue-Grey Connolly Hide (VM 3244) as the car still presents today, as confirmed by its original factory build sheet.

From September 1962, the factory completed further changes to DB4 production, which we believe AMHT has designated as the final variant of the DB4 Vantage. Principally, to provide more space and legroom for rear seat passengers, the body was lengthened by 9cm (up from 448 to 457 cm) and the roof raised all within the same wheelbase as previous examples.

The rear light clusters were slightly changed from the Series 4 and feature individual indicators, stop/tail lamp and reversing lamp. The rear reflector was therefore re-located to the bumper. Also, the boot handle/number plate light was changed to a larger Hella type. Another change can be seen with the front indicators which are noticeably a little larger than previous models.

As you have read, the Vantage specification closed headlamp Series 5 is one of the lowest productions DB’s models ever produced and known in Aston Martin circles as the ultimate connoisseurs-collector choice of ownership.

This ultra-rare and original manufactured DB4 Vantage Coupe is due into stock shortly. If you have interest to acquire this magnificent example, please call the showrooms personally to review.
